What is literacy?

To start our journey, we collectively generated a list of statements that suggest how we think about and value literacy. As you read these, consider: what might it mean for a group of students and teachers to see literacy in these ways? How else might it be understood? What ideologies live below these statements? Do they cohabit comfortably?
